General Info
Welcome to another exciting year of amateur football! We are a full contact tackle football organization. Pee Wee players are 10 to 12 years old, Bantam players are aged 13 - 15 years old.
Atom football is a developmental league designed to introduce young players to the game of full contact football. The rules of the game have been modified to promote a fun, active and safe environment. Players range from ages 8 - 10.
Our season for Bantam and Pee Wee will officially start this year on August 3, 2010. Our tryouts will be from August 3rd until August 7th. Full equipment practice starts on August 9th. The starting dates for the Atoms will be announced at a later date.
Both the Calgary Bantam Football Association and the Calgary Pee Wee Football Association has declared July off limits. What this means to the Hilltoppers is that we are not allowed to practice, play football, or get together for any football related activities whatsoever in July. The coaches will have a very short time frame to evaluate and decide on what position each player will best benefit the team. We would like to ask all families to help us out by taking holidays in July if at all possible.
PeeWee Referees Needed
Every year the league asks for two parent volunteers to help ref the games alongside the referees. All teams must submit two parent names. Training is provided and you will not be scheduled to ref your own child’s game. It will either be before or after. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to see the game up close. August 14th is the scheduled date for this course. More details to come in August.
Pee Wee
- First week of Try-outs will start on Aug 3rd - Aug 7th this week is with no equipment.
- Equipment hand out will be on Aug 7th after practice
- Second week of try-outs will run Aug 9 - 13th
- Jamborees will be held on 14th at Shouldice fields.
- Aug 16 first week of regular practice starts
- Aug 28th first league game
